Description:
The student will learn how to superimpose the sloper/basic block onto the commercial pattern and assess needed adjustments before moving to the muslin test garment. The pattern will be altered and a muslin test garment will be made to check the fit. The pattern will be updated to reflect the fitting adjustments.
Supplies:
A copy of your sloper/basic block in clear plastic (This should have all reference lines marked (waistline, high hip, low hip) and apex. I like polypropylene sheets (24 ½” X 45” X .020 smooth/matte, SKU #20346 grom Tap Plastics.)
Tape measure
Ruler and square, or gridded transparent ruler at least 18” long (here’s an example - see the 2” X 18” size)

Paper for drafting (available in art or office supply stores, just make sure it’s at least 36” wide and copy paper weight)
Scotch tape
Pencils and erasers (colored pencils as well)
Pins
Medium weight muslin, unwashed
