Drafting Dresses: Day to Evening

Service Description

We will begin with the classic, and timeless sheath and its figure flattering vertical panels and narrow silhouette. We will create a sleeveless, as well a sleeved version, and teach design options for necklines and sleeves. For those of you who want to take your dress out for a spin, we’ll teach you how to create a fit and flare silhouette. We will then move on to draft a strapless dress, with a waist length bodice and several neckline and skirt options. The trick to keeping the dress in its place and avoiding wardrobe malfunctions is the all-important hidden ally, the corselet, This is a fully boned undergarment which serves dual purpose, to support the bust and the strapless neckline. You’ll draft this based upon your moulage. ADDED BONUS: Your corselet pattern can also be used for a bustier!
