Description:

Learn to draft and sew the iconic motorcycle jacket from the ground up in this in-depth, skill-building online course. This classic style features an asymmetrical zippered closure, zippered sleeves and pockets, a convertible collar, and a fully lined interior. By the end of the course, you’ll have a custom-fit jacket and the confidence to tackle complex garment construction techniques.

During the first two weeks, we'll begin by creating a jacket sloper (optional if you already have one), then draft a personalized pattern and sew a test garment to ensure proper fit. From there, you’ll learn professional methods for sewing all of the signature details that make a motorcycle jacket both functional and stylish, including sleeve zippers with a godet, zippered pockets, a separating front zipper, lining insertion, and a convertible collar. Once complete, your finished jacket will be ready to take out for a spin.

  • Fitting techniques for structured outerwear

  • Sewing asymmetrical closures and separating zippers
