Description:
This course builds from your personalized bodice sloper and expands it into a complete system for drafting the classic shirt with variations on the silhouette. Over eight weeks, you’ll learn how to create classic tailored shirts, relaxed and casual styles, and oversized designs, while understanding how proportion, ease, and structure affect fit and style.
You’ll draft and refine essential shirt components including sleeves, yokes, plackets, collars, and cuffs. The class emphasizes versatility: you’ll be encouraged to mix and match silhouettes and design details to create your ideal blouse or shirt patterns.
Throughout the course, Lynda provides hands-on guidance for different body types, helping you fit your garments and adjust patterns so they work for your body, not just a standard size. By the end of the class, you’ll have a small library of interchangeable patterns and the skills to adapt them confidently for future designs.
